Snapped
Trying my gifted trial Snapper smart card for the third time yesterday, it again refused to work. The scanner at the front door of the 7.35am Route 17 bus told me, five times, to “try again” before I gave up. As I said, it is embarrassing that my card won’t work, because the scanner tells me so loudly that I have failed that everyone on the bus can hear. It makes me feel like a crook. I am sticking to my trusty, no-tech Gold Pass. The problem is, Go Wellington plans to replace these with Snapper cards later this year. I hope whatever bugs are stopping my Snapper being scanned will be fixed by then.

Why don’t you contact them at http://www.snapper.co.nz/contact.html
and ask them why the scanner doesn’t give a reason for the rejection?

Poneke, I’ve re-read this, and I think I know what the problem is.
It might be hard to accept, but in fact your Snapper card is NOT gifted. In fact, it’s struggling to perform at the same level as the other Snapper cards. You need to cut back on the stimulating after-bus activities, engage a tutor and scale back your expectations of this poor card.
